HOOI-YING ASH ZHANG 张海莹

DIASPORA“How has being Chinese diaspora influenced my experiences? How do these experiences relate to other diaspora identities and how can we learn from each other? What connects us and what makes us different? How is my experience of love and loneliness influenced by my history, heritage and surroundings?” Diaspora is an ongoing research into the Chinese diaspora identity with relations to the Netherlands and Dutch culture, as well as to other diaspora identities. In this research, Hooi-Ying does not shy away from vulnerable topics and instead brings forth this vulnerability to give space for an open and honest discussion around belonging.
